Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and potentially sponsoring me for this monumental challenge; as I literally take on the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2015.
A major inspiration for this journey, is raising funds to support the Micro and Anophthalmic Children’s Society (MACS). This is the UK’s national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. This amazing charity supports families of children born with the rare conditions Microphthalmia (small eyes), Anophthalmia (no eyes) and/or Coloboma (cleft of the eye).
The work and support this charity carries out is literally a lifeline to families. To find out more about MACS or to read stories about just some of the children MACS have supported, please visit here: http://www.macs.org.uk/stories/#53
A marathon
to some might be easy. “No worries, my Gran
did that aged 83, Gordon Ramsey’s done it loads of times - heck; I’ve even done
it 4 times…” For me, it won’t be easy… Being
a ’big boned lad’ of what I like to call a ‘rugby players build’, this will
really really hurt. I can’t actually
believe I am doing this, and frankly – it’s scary. It is a massive personal challenge both physically and mentally.
Hopefully the idea of potentially sponsoring me has now turned into a click the donate button above. If it has, from myself and on behalf of MACS, thank you very much.
Wish me luck!
