Hi Friends,

This May I'll be running the Scottish Half Marathon in Edinburgh and would love to take this opportunity to encourage you all to support two organisations that I've been involved with-Waverley Care and Living Hope Community Centre. They are both dedicated towards supporting those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS; one in Scotland and one in South Africa. It feels appropriate to be fundraising for them both, given the relevance of HIV affecting our brothers and sisters near and far, and each organisation have truly captured my heart with their compassion, committment and wholeheartedness in the fight against AIDS. If you'd like to learn more about both these organisations, please check out their websites, below:

http://www.waverleycare.org/

http://www.livinghope.co.za/

Both Waverley Care and Living Hope have been, and continue to be, affected by the economic downturn and are experiencing major cuts in their funding. For example, Waverley Care is under threat of closure of services at their support centre Milestone House, and Living Hope has had a loss of LifeSkill workers in many of Cape Town's townships, where they work. This means that lifelines of many living with and affected by HIV/AIDS are being cut. I know that injustices are all around us and many of us support different people and projects in various ways, so please feel no pressure to donate money. If you are able to help out, then that would be wonderful-either donate for Waverley Care via this justgiving page, or send me donations for Living Hope (as they are not a UK-registered Charity)

Thanks so much for your time in reading this and also your support, whether it be a few pennies, many pennies, or a loud cheer on the day!

Running love,

Chrisie x

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
