Yes, its time to don the fetching padded lycra shorts and get the bikes out of hibernation and as it happened this year - bright pink bra's too!
This year we decided to invite colleagues from the other Akzo Uk manufacturing sites to join in with our challenge. As we are based at opposite ends of the Uk, it was agreed that on the 11th June, we would cycle down country from Prudhoe and they would cycle up. For the third and final day, we cycled the final 55 miles together to Sherwood Forest Leisure Centre in Nottingham - via what appeared to be a river bed!!
In support of one of our colleagues, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, we chose to support 'Breast Cancer Campaign'.
Breast Cancer Campaign’s aim is to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure. Research is the start of the solution: building a brighter future for people with breast cancer.
