QUICK UPDATE!!! 

Just to say everything went very well on the day and I managed to complete the 26.2 miles in 3 hours and 13 minutes, which was 2 minutes ahead of my estimated time AND only 13 minutes behind American superstar athlete Lance Armstrong! Thanks for all your support, and if you haven’t still sponsored me YOU STILL CAN...............

It’s always been a driving ambition of mine to run a marathon and there’s no doubt that the New York Marathon is as good as any other on the planet...

The 22 weeks training has been a huge physical & mental challenge for me and something I’ve been fully committed to doing - even with the numerous niggling injuries along the way!

Unfortunately, there will only be one friend (Tim Watkins) coming to NYC to run with me, but I know all my friends and family will be cheering me on back in the UK...

I’m running to raise money for Tim's sister’s charity, The A-T Appeal. The charity was set up in the early 90’s when his sister was diagnosed with A-T  (Ataxia-Telangiectasia). A-T is a rare genetic condition which first shows itself in very young children. It progressively attacks the motor control area of the brain and also affects the immune system along with significantly increasing the risk of cancer. There is no treatment for A-T at present, but the recent discovery of the A-T gene has given many families real hope for the future...
