Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We will be taking part in COCO’s inaugural Route 66 Cycle Challenge, a day’s cycle challenge that takes in some of Northumberland’s untouched villages.

This is a 66 mile circular challenge that takes between 4—7 hours and ascends to 1217 metres.

We will set off from Newcastle on Saturday morning and will race through villages including Ponteland, Whalton, Meldon, Coldrife, Wallington, Matfen and Dissington.

Our team challenge is to not only raise an enormous amount of money for COCO but also complete the course at least 30 minutes before our colleagues.

The Route 66 route will be tough challenge even though we have each trained hard for many months.

COCO is a registered children’s charity working on closely monitored education and healthcare initiatives that make a big difference to the lives of children living in poverty throughout the developing world.

Founded by former Olympic athlete Steve Cram in 2000, COCO has since raised over £1.7 Million, helping to fund children’s projects in developing countries, primarily in Africa (Liberia, Malawi, Uganda, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania) and also in Thailand, Bosnia, Peru and Romania. Currently COCO are working in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa and Ghana.

COCO fund small projects that encourage community involvement and capacity building and projects that represent an investment in and a commitment to brighter futures for children.

With your help even more children will be able to access the education, healthcare and skills they need for brighter futures.
