I made it! 4 hrs, 27 min and 12 seconds
It was a lovely course through the New Forest, but hot when we went through the open heath land, thankfully there were lots of drinks and sponge stations. I nearly fell into one of the sponge buckets at 20 miles because I couldn't bend my legs! Although they kept me running, I have gone off jelly babies completely!
Next week I hope to be able to walk down stairs without squeeling!
Thank you to everyone who has donated money to the Rowans Hospice
I am going to try and run my first (and probably last!) marathon in aid of the Rowans Hospice. This is a fantastic hospice that provides care for terminally ill patients and support for their families during very difficult times.
As it is going to take me a long time to complete the 26 miles I thought I better choose a scenic route and so have gone for the New Forest marathon on 27th September. The description of the route is "undulating", the OS map indicates hilly and as I live on Hayling Island it looks mountainous to me! So please dig deep for this very good cause because I will certainly need to to get round!!
