We give our patients outstanding care to help them make the best of every moment

Story

On , we sadly lost our dad to cancer of the oesophagus . He was just 62.  He lived his life to the full, was a stubborn individual -  a trait he has passed on to us both but was also very caring, loving, kind considerate and we could spend hours regaling you with stories full of joy and laughter which would have many of you in stitches!

We write with a very specific story. We would like to tell you about his last few days with us and those who made it easier for him and us.

Trinity Hospice sits just off Clapham Common North Side in . An un-assuming building but with a lot of magic and comfort on the inside.

Our dad went into the hospice in his last days and you could see the stresses and strains of his illness leave him when he did. The staff were kind, friendly, sympathetic, ready to listen and treated him with the utmost respect.  They comforted him when he was frightened and we were never asked to leave because ‘visiting hours were over’. They ensured my mum could stay with him on his first night and the compassion shown by the social worker on duty inspired Clare to become one herself.

Although only there for a short time, we know that he was happy and at peace when he died and it was this special place that made it possible.

“Trinity’s specialist nursing care supports 2,000 dying people every year enabling them to lives their lives with dignity, free from unnecessary pain and anxiety.  We help families and friends to cope too.  It will cost nearly £8 million to provide these vital services this year and, with an aging population, we face ever increasing demands. Just one third of our funding comes from the NHS, which means we rely heavily on voluntary support”.

Trinity hospice provides such an invaluable service to patients family and friends.  It is for this reason that we ask all of you to help us. My sister and I are doing a charity Tandem Skydive on in Co. .  We both hope to raise £1200 for this wonderful place.

“Your gift could mean so much to a patient of Trinity, or to someone who has lost a loved one”

Please give what you can. The smallest of amounts make the largest difference once added up and this will help others. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.
