Hello Friends!

As many of you will know this summer we are raising money for the charity FUN and asking for your support.

Mt. Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and the world’s highest free-standing mountain at 5,900m. We are going to set off on our 5 day journey to the top at the end of August and are hoping for you support in this challenge!

The charity we have chosen to support in Friends United Network, FUN. FUN was one of the first mentoring and befriending projects to be set up in the UK. It supports children aged from 5 to 16, from extremely disadvantaged single parent families in North London by providing them with a long term volunteer adult befriender. FUN volunteers spend a few hours each week with the child they support doing simple activities like playing football, going to the park, visiting a museum or just having a chat in a café. Through these activities volunteers build a one-to-one relationship with the child and help them to build self-confidence and esteem.
