29/10/2007 - Update - I Made It!!Hi all,
For those of you that are interested I have uploaded all the pictures of my Trek up Kilimanjaro and of the Education Project and orphanage at www.climbforlife.co.uk – just go to the photo gallery
Just wanted to say thank you for all of your help, sponsorship, jean days and donations over the past few months.. I have so far raised of £6,301.00 completely smashing my target of £3000 and I am now aiming to get to £7,000.00 by the end of November (if you would still like to donate, please go to www.climbforlife.co.uk).
The trek itself was mentally, physically and emotionally challenging, but it was all worth it when you see with your own eyes how your monies have and are still helping disadvantaged children around the world and what could and does happen to these children without your support.
Truly thank you all again
Dickie
P.S. Sorry if you have received this twice
23/09/2007 - Update... i have increased my target from £3000 to £7000, Please help me smash it!
Thanks for visiting my donation site.
For those of you that know me, you’ll know that I am always doing some rather random and crazy things, which mostly include fancy dress for my own entertainment value (especially when it includes a Borat Man-Kini and the Chinese Police). This time I have decided to take on a challenge that will not only be a life changing experience for me but will benefit many disadvantaged young people, by climbing a distance of 60 Kilometres to the snow capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, 5,895m/19,340ft high, for the Entertainment Software Charity (ECS) on the 6th October 2007 and I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me (even if it’s just a pound, as every penny counts).
I'm sure some of you owe me some favours, so all I ask in return is for you to dig deep when donating...
SPONSORSHIP - FYI if any of you would like to donate £500+, there is an opportunity to share sponsorship with an embroidered logo on all selected parts of my climbing Kit (i.e. Jacket, Bag, Hat, Etc). Please e-mail me if you are interested at richards@gem.co.uk
You can find out more information on the Trek at my own Kilimanjaro website at the following link - www.climbforlife.co.uk (website to be created)
Big Thanks
T.O.A.O.D.S (The One And Only Dickie Stickler)
ECS -The Entertainment Software Charity
The Entertainment Software Charity is the official charity of the UK computer and video games industry. It was founded in 2000 by prominent members of the UK Games Industry in order to deliver real benefits directly to those who need it most. We work with charities which bring hope to disadvantaged young people by providing educational and medical support. Importantly, these charities are skilled at knowing how to get the right help to the right people effectively and efficiently.
In 2005 the ESC donated a total of £507,000 to educational and medical causes specifically for young people.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ESC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Dickie
