I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in late 2007 and as I didn't know how the MS might progress in the future, and whether I might need a wheelchair, I decided to go to Australia for 3 months to make the most of travelling while I was still able. It was a bit of an emotional time for me - being made redundant, finishing with my girlfriend, plus my grandad died, all in a matter of a short period of time.
When I returned I felt more positive about everything and joined the Swindon Therapy Centre where I now benefit from the oxygen therapy and also do pilates classes. I feel the oxygen helps with my energy levels, mobility and speech comes much easier and I feel more able to communicate. The pilates is great in helping me stretch and make my muscles more supple.
I have decided to do the skydive for the Centre as they are due to move to new premises and money is still desperately needed towards the refurbishment costs. The new building is costing £750,000 so every penny really counts.
