Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So we did it in the end, unfortunately falling short on the allotted time. It was clear that my training program, largely consisting of running up the escalator at Marylebone with a mad dash to platform 6 failed to build the required stamina, nor did it replicate the micro climates at over 3000 feet. Our selection of transport with a 63 mph restricted mini bus was also an obstacle. Despite struggling with the issues under our control the weather played its card of continued rain, hail , sleet and snow, we waded through 2 foot of the stuff at the top of Ben Nevis. Time is a great healer, having vowed "never again" when completely unable to walk down the stairs the next day I sense unfinished business....

The most amazing thing has been the support from all you guys and the amount raised should get us over 100 hours of respite care, thank you all so much.

Colin.

It was during one of those nights in the pub when bemoaning my age that I fell into the trap of a challenge, a school boy error to agree to anything after a few pints!

So here I am weeks away from walking the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, and I am hopeful my years of running for a train will make this an achievable challenge.

On a serious note we have maps and a compass and I have made an effort to do some walking. Our plan is to try to do it in 24 hours, of course all our lovely weather can be expected to last so what can go wrong!

With any luck some of you will take sympathy on my plight and join the challenge by making a small donation to the charity I have selected. CHAT (Children Health And Therapy) is a registered charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for Buckinghamshire families with children who have individual healthcare needs by providing funds for equipment and short term respite care.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
