BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

WellChild is the national charity for seriously ill children. Thousands of children live with complex medical needs. Many spend months, or years in hospital because there is no support enabling them to leave. We exist to give these children the best chance to thrive: at home, with their families.

Story

After many years of watching and supporting as other people 'enjoyed' the delights of marathons and other challenges, I have finally succumbed to the pressure and will be taking part in the Great North Run in September.

I will be running, of course, for WellChild which - for those of you that don't know - is an unbelievable charity doing amazing things for seriously ill children and young people in the UK.

If I hit my fundraising target of £1,054, I will have raised enough to pay for a WellChild Nurse for one week. The WellChild Nurses do an incredible job getting sick children out of hospital and back with their families - and the charity is working to expand the network so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Think about it this way - it's 10 people donating £105.40 or 20 people donating £52.70 or 50 people donating £21.08. It doesn't sound so much when you put it like that does it??!

Thank you for your support, it really will make a difference both to the children and families supported by WellChild - and the motivation I need to kick my 40-year-old aching bones into shape!

Cheers

Colin
