Commando Speed March · 9 March 2013

We exist solely to support The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, looking after veterans, serving soldiers and families within our Airborne community. We're there for our nation’s paratroopers through the good and the bad, from the moment they join our family to the sounding of the last post.

Story

Airborne Greetings! Thanks for visiting the greatest page on JustGiving.

3 Para needs your support! This year we are sending a team of the toughest Paratroopers to compete for 1st place at the annual Commando Speed March.

The event is a 7 Mile uphill slog carrying a 35lb Bergen, to be completed under an hour, recreating the historical selection course of the WWII Commandos.

We are competing to raise money for The Parachute Regiment Charity,  which was established to support soldiers of The Parachute Regiment and their families, as well as Airborne Forces members who need help.

Their three key objectives are as follows:

(1) the relief of need, hardship and distress amongst past and present members of The Parachute Regiment and their dependents.

(2) the promotion of efficiency of The Parachute Regiment.

(3) the promotion and maintenance of the heritage of The Parachute Regiment.

Your donations will help provide the following:

Bespoke wheelchairs for wounded soldiers

Equipment to enable an amputee to enter Paralympic cycling

Travel and accommodation costs for soldiers attending commemorations
such as Arnhem and Normandy

Helping towards special mobility vehicle for a soldier’s disabled child

Travel and hotel costs to enable families of those killed to attend
memorial occasions

Help to provide special holidays for a disabled child

Help for soldier to return home overseas for a family funeral

Soldiers’ adventure training and kit for sports teams

Family days aimed at providing support and communication during deployment

Transport costs for overseas relatives of wounded soldiers

Help with family funeral costs

Providing needed furniture for young children in new housing.

Your donations will help the Paratroopers who've helped save the world! British Airborne, you call, we fall!
