Story
Thanks for logging in to my fundraising page. I am taking part in the 'Lawrence Dallaglio Cycle Slam' which involves me cycling for 5 days in February (18-22 Feb) starting in Nice heading over the Alps then a long stretch on to Paris. This is 760km in 5 days, an average of 152km per day in Winter!!. I am still not entirely sure how i got roped into this given that as i write this on Jan 13th i haven't actually been on a bike for 4 years and my training thus far has consisted of 3 spin classes over the last 3 weeks. Rest assured i will have to find some time, dig out the bike, wipe the dust off, pump up the tires and do some training or i may have to get towed up the Alps....
In partnership with the BBC’s Sport Relief campaign, the cycle ride will aim to raise £1 million for Sport Relief and the Dallaglio Foundation, which in turn will support Cancer Research UK, DebRA, the Help for Heroes campaign, the PRA Benevolent Fund and Leukaemia Research. This will be a very difficult challenge (particularly if i don't get some training in) so please give generously in the understanding that i will be going through some pain trying to haul my overweight frame through France to earn the money that you are donating. Any donation no matter how small will be greatfully recieved by all the charities we are raising money for, so please give generously. I have even stooped to using a cute picture of my eldest boy to get the sympathy vote and encourage you to sponsor me......
Thanks for taking the time and for parting with your hard cash.
Conor
