Story
Good day kindly visitors of our JustGiving page. A few years ago, when we were all up to here in exams, we decided that when we'd all made successes/ failures of our degrees we would compete in the Mongol Rally. This epic 10,000 mile roadtrip begins in London, and ends in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar with the aim of donating your vehicle to the Mongolian emergency services upon arrival (meaning unfortunately Owen’s Vauxhall Agila is probably not suitable). This is all in aid of a charity called GoHelp, a not for profit organisation run entirely by volunteers whose goals involve enabling access to primary healthcare, providing scholarships and employment opportunities for young people, to support education projects and to facilitate the placement of skilled health & education volunteers in Mongolia.
A good deal of fundraising is required to compete however, and with two of us having made successes/ failures of our degrees and two more on the way it’s time to get this all sorted. The purpose of this page is to pillage your deep and generous pockets for cash. The first £1,000 raised will go directly to GoHelp. Should we be fortunate enough to raise any money beyond this, it will go towards getting our vehicle to Mongolia (it's quite a long way see). We've got a number of fundraising plans in the pipeline (bake sales, pub quizzes, I’m also considering getting sponsored to shave my eyebrows off), and they'll all be updated on the JustGiving page.
