My story
3 event down! Eton supersprint. I finished in 107 out of 800 in a time of 1hr 8mins 35 secs, about a minute behind gareth so slowly catching him 400 mtr swim time 6:53 21.5k bike time 36:24 5k run time 22:19 What an amazing venue – it will be fantastic for the Olympic rowing! First supersprint I have attempted and happy with my result – getting closer to Gareth every event! Off for a training weekend in spain to celebrate Gareths Bday (yes will be training, taking bikes and wetsuits. The guys have two different 4 hour rides prepared! L) Next event Windsor triathlon on the 17 June 2012. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After 13 miles taking in the wonderful sights of Chingford and Walthamstow high streets, back roads and underpasses. The added bonus in this event was the game of chicken you were expected to play with traffic, bikes and local people! Add to that a magnificent hill at 12 miles and taking all of this into account I was very pleased with my time and position 1hr39min (33 out of 500+)
We have added one new event the brands hatch cyclothon (an 8 hr 4 man team event ) and will hopefully be entering the Lanzarote half iron man this week.
Off for a much needed holiday this week then its back to training for the rest of the year!...
updated ist of events below ..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In January 2013 I will 40 years old (yes I know most of you thought I was already!). I thought it would be a great idea to accomplish some more sporting events before my body decides that enough is enough. Last year I attempted and completed 3 events, Tough Guy, London Marathon and London Triathlon with personal bests in both the marathon (3:46) and triathlon ( 2:32).
This year I intend to stretch myself a little further whilst my body is capable all in the aid of charity. I will be doing this on behalf of the Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation http://www.ellisharrietclark.org/ once again, a local foundation that was founded with the aim of making the lives of children suffering with cancer a little easier. The foundation works very closely with http://www.teenagecancertrust.org/ and http://scatbonecancertrust.org/
My close friend Gareth Pickard who literally dragged me around all of last
Year's events has agreed to do this with me once again - foolish!
