Depression is an illness which affects 1 in 5 of us in our lives. 1 in 10 of the adult population are currently diagnosed with depression & anxiety, but the figures are likely to be higher because people are too afraid to seek the help and support that is available to them. Putting aside the economic cost - £9 billion per year, 110 million working hours lost - the fact that seems to escape so many people is that depression is an illness, there is help and support available and most importantly recovery happens.
Depression Alliance
provides information and support services to people whose lives are
affected by depression. This year they have obtained the most places
