Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, former Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, has kindly accepted the invitation to be the guest speaker at this dinner, to formally launch our virtual DIL teacher training college and provide an overview of DIL Trust UK’s vocational training initiative in the UK and Pakistan.
DIL was founded in 1997 and registered in the UK (Reg. No. 1122924) in 2007. In a short span of time, DIL Trust UK has transformed the female educational landscape in Pakistan -where DIL schools exist, thousands of girls who were not allowed to go to school are accessing quality education. 69% of DIL’s students are girls. This is a great accomplishment in a country where the literacy for women is only 38%.
