Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Stratford's finest - D Shift (well most of them) - have decided to do a skydive in August 2010 in aid of Cancer Research UK for the reasons below. This event will see (confirmed so far anyway!) PC Tayler, PC Wood, PC Skinner, PC Murray, Sgt Moss and even some of our WAGS jump from a plane.

We wanted to do it for Cancer Research UK because when James was about 21 his mum got breast cancer. Luckily they caught it early and she had a lumpectomy and something removed from her armpit, and it was pretty hellish for her, not to mention the family, and the months of daily radiotherapy. A few years later, Dr's then found some cancerous cells in her womb, which then resulted in a hysterectomy. Again, not a nice thing to have done. To rub salt into the wounds, recently, as a result of the radiotherapy in her breast, a rare tumour appeared and the breast was removed. There is no let up. It is a relentless evil disease that is real and has happened to James' mum and many others we know like Sharon Payne's mummy, R.I.P.

We want it stopped and are willing to jump out of a plane to stop it!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. This is for mummy Tayler and all those we know affected by cancer.

We love you xxx
