Charity Horse Race · 5 November 2009

Its prime purpose is to provide appropriate help, medical, financial and otherwise, to current and retired jockeys who are injured, unable to ride or in need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've wanted to ride in a horserace for a long time, and now I have the opportunity to do so and raise much needed funds for both the Injured Jockeys Fund, and the Stable Lads' Welfare Fund.

These Charities are especially relevant at this very sad time, as The Injured Jockeys' Fund is supporting the families of Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson, the two apprentice jockeys so tragically killed recently.

The horse I'm riding is AMJAD, so kindly donated by Middleham Trainer Simon West. Simon has taken over this role from Kate Milligan who suffers from MS  and was forced through this terrible illness, to ' hand over the reins ' to Simon. From the short time he has taken over, he's had no less than 6 winners, a marvellous achievement from a relatively small string of horses in training.

The race is taking place at Towcester Racecourse on Thursday 5th November 2009 and is over 1.5 miles on the flat.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Who knows, I might even win !!

Thanks so much !

David

PS I'll keep this page and Facebook updated as the race gets nearer.
