In September 2012, myself and a group of my fellow students at the University of Warwick will be taking on the largest free-standing mountain in the world to raise money for Practical Action, a charity working to tackle poverty all across the globe.
Over 6 days we will be trekking all the way up to Uhuru peak, which at 19,340 feet above sea level is the highest point in Africa.
Why?
I’m taking this as the next big step in my charity and volunteer work I’ve flung myself in to head first since starting Warwick.
As some of you may already know, I’m currently RAG Coordinator at Warwick RAG, an Assistant Cub Scout Leader at 4 Leamington St Marks and a member of St John Ambulance with Warwick LINKS. I truly feel this sort of event is the best possible way I can help people the world over!
Who?
Practical Action uses technology to challenge poverty, working with poor women and men around the world. More information is available at http://practicalaction.org – Help make a difference by sponsoring me today!
My target is £2,500 to help people all over the globe, including East Africa where Kilimanjaro itself is.
Wish me luck, it’s a steep climb up and I’m going to need it.
Thank you,
Daniel Neville.
