Three Peaks Challenge 2009 · 15 August 2009 ·

We will all experience grief in our lifetime, and it can be devastating. We’re here to help, offering the emotional support and information needed to navigate grief and bereavement. To donate, volunteer or raise money for us, please email our friendly fundraising team at fundraising@cruse.org.uk.

Story

Greetings folks and thanks for your interest in this venture of ours.

It came about because of our frustration with leading desk bound lives surrounded by the London smog, forever envious of those active sorts who take matters into their own hands and push themselves to achieve something.

This summer our motley crew will be attempting to reach the summits of the highest peaks of three great nations, all within just 24 hours, in the famed and feared 3 Peaks Challenge.  That's right - after striding up Ben Nevis we expect to take in both Scafell Peak and Snowden for fun.  However, the collective level of fitness we are starting from makes the 'challenge' description fully apt!

Better still, with your help we are hoping to raise some serious funds for a wonderful Charity.  Cruse Bereavement Care exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss.  It is the UK's leading specialist bereavement charity with 175 branches and 6,000 volunteers accross the country.

Their work came to our attention because one of our 3 Peaks drivers (Dan's dad) is involved as a trustee and because several of us have seen the difficulties of coping wth bereavement amongst people we know.

Please help us to reach our target and help Cruse to reach more people by making a donation here.  No amount is too small.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
