On Feb 6th 2008 my little girl was born, 8lb 11 and perfect, I felt very lucky and proud.  At just six weeks old a dark shadow started to appear on her nose, no-one had a clue what it was.  My Mum knew straight away was was about to happen as I myself had the same thing but on my forehead.  Imogen's birth mark got bigger and by the time she was 9 months it was very 'blue and purple' and at it's biggest.  I got no support from anyone, even though she's completly healthly I am reminded every day from people staring and pointing at her that it's something which makes her different from others.  As a mother it is heartbreaking to have people stare and pull faces of disgust at your precious baby.

I am hoping to raise lots of money for this charity so that they can be more support for parents around the country not just in specialised clinics in London.  We are hoping her nose will start to fade and go down but if not we will see about surgery to get it removed in London before she starts school.

The Birthmark Support Group is a registered charity - Number 1090952. It was set up in December 1998 by parents of children with a birthmark at the suggestion of Drs Harper and Syed from Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Its objective is to provide a UK based support group for anyone with a birthmark.

It's not a very well supported charity so I am hoping to raise as much money as I can throughout the year by holding events and sponsored runs!!
