Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 11th June 2011, I am taking part in a 16 mile sponsored walk in aid of White Hackle. White Hackle is The Regimental Association Welfare and Benevolence Fund of the Royal Regiment of Scotland is commited to providing support to all serving and ex Jocks and their immediate dependants.

I have a colleague at work who is directly involved as his nephew was recently injured with a hidden IED whilst on tour in Afghanistan. His injuries cost him both his legs a shattered pelvis and other serious injuries. I am assured by my colleague that as his nephew is still recovering in hospital in Birmingham ( and making good progress) White Hackle are providing for his immediate dependants and himself way beyond the family's expectations.

As a result the family are staging numerous charity events to hopefully pay something back to the fund and are asking as many family and friends as possible to help, and also to give support to our troops.

I have offered my services by taking part in a sponsored walk from Penicuik to West Linton and back to Penicuik which is around 16 miles. Anybody who knows me will be fully aware that as a rule I don't do walking and certainly not any distance. I am hoping to complete the walk in around 8 hours, this includes stopping time for sore feet, aching legs and hopefully a pint somewhere along the way :)

I am asking for your support for myself, and to thank and support our troops, all of who will at some point receive something from this charity. If you're not comfortable giving card details you can help using your Paypal account too. Please donate anything you can to help. Please also ask your family and friends to come onto my page and donate. Thankyou for your time and generosity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
