Thank you for all your support.
In a moment of madness I decided to enter the Norwich 100 road cycle event on behalf of my Company who are supporting Build Africa this year . This is a charity that specialises in helping young African people escape poverty through education and income generation projects so I want to help raise funds for this worthwhile cause. Knowlden Titlow has always supported local charities each year by holding various fundraisers but this is the first time we have been involved in such a massive project. So it is going to take some extra special events to help reach our target and raise enough money to 'Build a School'.
This event starts in Norwich and then moves on though picturesque country roads and villages to Sheringham on the North Norfolk coast and then back to the city via the outskirts of the Norfolk Broads, which sounds lovely right ???? ….. so currently to help me prepare I cycle from Taverham to Norwich and then back twice a week weather permitting !! However to give you a better idea of just how hard a challenge this is going to be cycling 100 miles, I have listed some cycle rides as a comparison which cover the same distance:
Norwich to Southend-on-Sea 100 miles
Norwich to Skegness 102 miles
Norwich to Milton Keynes 104 miles
Norwich to White Hart Lane London 108 mile
And London to Brighton and Back!
So I’m sure you’ll agree that this is going to be quite a task and will require considerable effort, but I have no doubt it will also be very rewarding. But what better motivation than knowing I have all your support and more importantly sponsorship to get me over the line. I know times are hard currently but times are even harder for the children of Africa so please help to give them the start we all take for granted, ‘Education’.
