On October 4th I will be running the Cricklade Half Marathon to try and raise money for The Catalyst Trust who support a number of projects that help the 600-700 street children of Nakuru, Kenya. I was recently priviliged to hear Sammy Nawali tell the amazing story of how the kindness of one stranger turned his life around. Sammy was a street kid, heavily into drugs and without hope when one day he approached a tourist named Albert begging for money. Instead of turning his back on Sammy Albert took him to a school and offered to pay for the rest of his education. Not only did this incredible act of generosity save Sammy's life but it also enabled Sammy to become the man he is today who dedicates himself to helping children who face the same terrible struggle that he did. This story has inspired me to try and make some small contribution to the lives of these Kenyan children and to the troubled young people from the UK who The Catalyst Trust also supports.
