Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Mum passed away on the 18th December 2009 spending her final days in the amazing care of Princess Alice Hospice in Esher Surrey. It is a remarkable place with staff that couldn’t do enough to make a horrible time that much more bearable for both my Mum and all our family. I promised Mum that I would raise some money to help the hospice so they can continue helping others in the future. I came up with the challenge of a Triathlon in the French Mountains, swimming 2200 meters in a lake, followed by a mountainous 115KM bike ride finishing with 21KM run (half marathon) in and around the Ski resort of Alpe D’Huez. This will likely take around 10 hours or more to complete so I hope you will dig deep to support this cause (any small amount helps). The event is on the 28th July 2010 and if you want to read more about it (or maybe join me) here is the website address: http://www.alpetriathlon.com/v5/AN/index-32.htm Many Thanks Danny PS We have been clearing my Mums flat and the local Princess Alice hospice charity shop in Surbiton has already raised several hundred pounds from all the bits and pieces Mum had collected over the years (she was a bit of a hoarder!) . Hopefully this total will continue to rise and if I can raise a decent amount in July this should really help the Hospice continue its great work. I just hope none of you ever have to find out how amazing these places are!
