My story

So you are wondering ...."Whats all this about?"

Well let me explain, one evening over a rather good bottle of red, I decided to do something which I have been threatening to do for along time and that is to help others.

      So, November 19th 09, I am embarking on a cycle challenge, which will take me (hopefully) from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to the ancient temple site of Ankgor Wat in Cambodia, cycling through the rural Mekong following rivers,paddy fields,forests and mountain trails a distance of approximately 450Kms,not a great distance in terms of cycling challenges I agree, but I will be cycling on 6 consecutive days up to 95Kms per day in extreme weather conditions which will include heat, rain and high humidity to give you some idea I have been told I will require to drink 10 to 15 litres of water per day!! so it is not to be taken lightly and considering I have not really been on a bike since school itis quite daunting,especially when the going gets tough and my legs have forgotten who owns them!

       I have decided on this cyce challenge to try to help raise funds by the way of sponsorship St Andrews childrens hospice, in Grimsby. All the children and young people they care for have a progressive life limiting illness. Their main aims are to improve the childrens quality of life,to bring fun into their every day routines by providing specialist medical and nursing care and to keep them smiling. They also offer extensive help and support to their families and carers.

      So come on, support me in supporting these young children, I guarantee you will feel good today knowing you have made a difference to someones limited life.
