Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear Friends, Since joining my current employment five years ago, I have become friends with Paul Bridgman. I became aware some time later that his wife, Rachel, was suffering from an illness known as MPD. MPDs are rare blood cancers that can cause debilitating fatigue, blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, recurrent miscarriage and also increases the risk of leukaemia and bone marrow failure. Having met the family and seeing first hand how close they are, this news was very distressing and I felt quite helpless and could only offer my prayers for Rachel's health - these, with my best wishes, are always there for the family. However, sitting around and feeling sorry is never enough and I am happy to have the opportunity to become involved in a fundraising event for MPD SUPPORT which is run from St.Thomas' Hospital London. On Saturday, 4th September 2010 a group of us, headed up by Paul Bridgman will be abseiling down the world’s tallest hospital tower! The building is Guy’s Hospital Tower in London and it is 34 storeys / 153 meters tall. This event will help to raise awareness and, most importantly, funds for research into potential cures for MPD. This may not be a quick fix but it is a step closer toward helping people affected by MPD.I would be most grateful for your contributions, however small (but preferably large!!) - seriously though, every penny counts!
