Disney 'Goofy' Marathon & a Half · 30 May 2012

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am undertaking the wacky and not to mention magical Disney 'Goofy Marathon and a Half' in January 2013

This is no ordinary marathon.....the event is held over 2 days - on day 1 I will run a 1/2 Marathon and on day 2 I then run a full Marathon. If I manage to complete the event whilst maintaining a minimum mile speed/time I also complete the Goofy Challenge.

For those that know me supporting the MS Society has become a bit of an epic cause for me since my wife was diagnosed with RR-MS a couple of years ago. In fact as I write this bio Vicki is having a consultation with a Doctor about having an implant so that her monthly medication does not cause her veins to collapse, MS is one thing but the medication for keeping things under control is a whole seperate issue!

My recent events have included an unaided crossing of the Arctic via Huskey sled in 7 days during April 2012, swimming the Great London Swim in May 2012 and the Great Manchester (Salford) swim on 1st July 2012.

As part of the build up training for the challenge I am also running the Doughnut Dash (5k) in July 2012, the London Price 10k (Sept 2012), the 'White Night Brighton 1/2 Marathon' in October and the Battle 'Christmas Pudding' 5 Miler in December.

I pay to attend all of my events (including transport and hotels etc) from my own pocket, every penny I raise for the MS Society goes to them and not towards the events/challenges I undertake.
