I am running (spluttering and choking) in the Virgin London Marathon this year to raise money for Palms Charity and achieve what's previously seemed impossible! My body is already protesting every training run.

Palms Charity works with Community Support Homes, a group of residential care homes caring for the mentally ill under pension age. Many of these people's only support comes from benefits, and much of those are taken by the local authority for care home fees, so Palms Charity is dedicated to providing quality of life too through sports equipment, books, musical instruments and many group activities.  The charity's main income source is the London Marathon and so every runner is playing a crucial role in enabling the organisation to continue its valuable work.
