Dear All,

First of all thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In a moment of characteristic weakness I have 'volunteered' (again) to run the London Marathon to raise vital funds for Childcare.

Then again, how could I resist. Childcare is a fantastic charity. Its team of professional carers work with schools, local authorities, the police and within the broader community to provide fianacial and, more importantly, emotional support to children who's lives are more complicated and challenging than most of us could possibly imagine.

These are tough times financially for charities and Childcare is no exception. Indeed the economic downturn is a 'double wammy' for them - not only does it impact them financially but at the very same time increases the need for the vital support they provide.

Anyway, I know you will do what you can and thank you so much for your support. It really is appreciated.
