THE CHALLENGE

To celebrate the good fortune of being 50 on Feb 14th I am planning to swim 50km in the 25m pool of Green's Heath Club between Saturday 5th - Saturday 12th February 2011.  50km is 2000 lengths but since it is 2011 I'm adding a few on!

 

WHY CROHN'S and COLITIS UK?

This time 17 years ago I was recuperating from major surgery to remove my large bowel which was beyond recovery after enduring a decade of Ulcerative Colitis. Ulcerative Colitis is a form of Irritable Bowel Disease. To date, there is no known cause for this condition.  

THE MONEY RAISED

The money raised by Crohn's and Colitis UK provides medical research awards (totalling £250,000 in 2010).  Hopefully someday, somebody will make a significant breakthrough.
