Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now, but why I hear you ask???

As I approach?!? middle age I have become aware that after 16 years of looking like a cross between a bad Tarzan and Catweazle (Google it kids) it’s not necessarily a good look. So I have decided that after a year of change for me that maybe it is time for another one. On a date yet to be decided but before Christmas I will be getting my hair cut off and thought that as it has become such a fixture I would try and raise some money for a charity close to my heart.

Two years ago my local cricket club pavilion was burnt to the ground by arson. The local children, my sons included and us adults lost the opportunity for some fun and exercise during the summer. It was a fantastic community facility and a focal point for many youth activities that gave youngsters something to do other than play computer games or cause trouble. Volunteers have struggled hard to raise the necessary funds and while work has finally started they are still short of the funds they need. You can read more here http://www.hamptonhillcricket.co.uk/

While I’m aware this is not a charity to compare with some others it is important to me and I would really appreciate it if you could donate something if you want to see me finally shorn of my long locks. https://www.justgiving.com/David-Ross-Hair-Today-Gone-Tomorrow

More details to follow on where and when it will take place, my palms are already sweating…….

About the charity

Founded in 1855, Hampton Hill Cricket Club is at the core of the local community, fielding adult and junior teams and encouraging youngsters to take up the sport. The pavilion was destroyed in an arson attack on 9/10/10 and the club has launched a Buy a Brick campaign to raise funds for the rebuild.
