My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

For those of you who know me well, know how much I think about dogs - Having 3 Golden retrievers until very recently.  (George is the one on the left) One thing I have learnt is that a dog has its own personality, is great company and how much you can rely on them.  Just think what a Guide dog would mean to the blind.

The Great North run gives me a great chance to get in shape after 18 years of not doing any sport (Crown Green bowling doesn't count) or physical activity.  It also allows me to support a charity that will allow many people to reep the benefits of a guide dog

my aim is to raise £250 through this site, the cost of feeding a guide dog for 1 year.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

Charity Registration No. in England and Wales 209617 and Scotland SC038979

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
