It has been a lifelong ambition to swim the channel. So I'm going to do 3.
Over the Bank Holiday in May 2011, I swam the Bristol Channel from Ilfracombe to Swansea. It was just under 32 miles after going off course a couple of times and was the equivalent of 2240 lengths of a standard swimming pool. No stopping, no wetsuit. I set a time of 21 hours 46 minutes missing the record set by Gethin Jones by just 7 miniutes.
So now preparation is underway for Challenge 2 which will be the English Channel to France and back (46 miles) and then the Irish Sea which will be just over 90 miles.
