Hi Everyone!
Marathon this year what next? A trek across the Great Wall of China....
As part of the fundraising initiative at the end of March 2010, a group of us from Tesco Bank are taking on a trek across the challenging and hilly terrain of the Great Wall of China, covering approximately 80km (Gubeikou – Tao Chun – Simatai – Ganfang – Lingxiu – Xinchen – Beijing). This is up and downhill in the heat and at altitude!
The money raised by the Tesco partnership will help to give these children more independent lives. Equipment such as powered wheelchairs, electric page turners and mobile arm supports, make a huge difference to the children and the lives of their families. The Tesco Charity trust will also top up all staff fundraising by 20% - so for every £1 you give, Tesco will pay another 20p!
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading charity focusing on all muscle diseases and is the Tesco Charity of the Year 2009.
Funds raised will go towards the Giving children equipment to be independent campaign to provide vital, specialist equipment for children with Muscular Dystrophy and related muscle diseases across the UK. Muscular Dystrophy and muscle disease are devastating, incurable conditions that cause muscles to waste away. Children who have muscle disease get progressively weaker - they can’t do simple tasks that we take for granted, such as brushing their hair or turning the pages of a book. About 8,000 children in the UK have muscle disease. Many of them will not live to reach adulthood.
PLEASE help me raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Muscular Dystrophy Campaign gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks again for your support - I really appreciate it and I know the children and their families who suffer from this incurable muscle wasting disease appreciate it too.
There are also lots of other fun activities happening over the next few months that you might want to get involved with will keep you posted.
Debbie xx
