Dear Friends and Family,
Just a little update!! On Saturday 5 December at 11am, my friends Hazel, Sarah, and I jumped into freezing cold Parliament Hill Lido (6 degrees!) to raise money for Skillshare International and GHARP. We jumped in with around 200 other mad swimmers in just our swimsuits and snowflake hats and swam some lengths! Take a look at some of the photos for evidence! You will notice a 3rd member joined our team - my friend Sarah! She was inspired at the last minute - very brave!
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far - we have already raised over £300 for Skillshare which is brilliant! As you know, in January 2010 I am going to volunteer for 2 years as a Communications Officer with the Greater Horn of Africa Rainwater Partnership (GHARP) - Skillshare have provided the funding and support for me to go out there and help GHARP in their work. GHARP develop rainwater harvesting and management techniques, aiming to improve access to good quality water across East Africa in areas severely affected by drought. http://www.skillshare.org/eastafrica/
All your money will be split between GHARP and Skillshare and really will make a massive difference.
