Hi

Just to give you some brief reasons why I picked firstly an animal charity and second why in particular Animals Asia.

If I could there are so many charities I would run for and these would be both human and animal charities. I felt lots of marathons like the London Marathon are run for human charities and having recently run a 3.5 mile race for a hospice I decided I would like to run for animals which don't get as much support.

As you may well know I'm a vegetarian and I believe because animals are unable to speak people think they are worth less. This is not the case as so many of us have pets as companions. They feel pain just like us except they are unable to tell us.

Animal cruelty happens all over the world. I believe there is a lot that happens in this country but hope we are becoming more educated and there is a lot more support for charities and rescue centres than there are in other countries. Hence why I have not picked a charity based on helping in this country.

When I was looking at the different types I decided to pick Animals Asia because in Asia they seem to still have a backward approach to eating dogs and cats where as we have them as pets. On top of that they terribly cruel to them and torture them to death. Animals Asia is a fairly small charity which is not only trying to stop the cruelty to animals but is also educating the future generation in Asia that this is not acceptable. They are teaching this to children in schools and hopefully this will start to make a difference as well.

As I said I found it incredibly difficult and still feel guilty at having to pick one charity but I do feel this is a worthy cause. Therefore I would really appreciate your support no matter how small a little makes a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for all your support :-).
