Top 5 fundraising tips for hospices

  1. Tell everyone involved with your hospice about your new Justgiving service - staff, patrons, trustees, families and the local community. Let them know:

WHAT Justgiving is - a website that enables your supporters to raise money or donate online

WHY they should use Justgiving - its quick, easy, 100% secure and free

WHERE they can find your Justgiving service - provide the links to your Justgiving donation and fundraising area on your website and in your supporter communications (on and offline)

  2. Put a prominent link to your donate facility on your hospice website, so everyone that visits your site can donate quickly and easily. Check out how the following hospices are promoting their Justgiving service on their own websites:

    St Ann’s Hospice

    St Michael’s Hospice

    St Andrew’s Hospice

  3. Engage people by actively encouraging them to take part in events. Organise your own event or help get supporters involved in open charity events. Think about offering incentives for the highest fundraisers or prizes for originality.
  4. Button for creating a fundraising page with Justgiving
  5. Tell people what their donation will buy. It's much more compelling to say "£X will pay for an hour’s play therapy for a child with a life-threatening illness" than to ask for funds for general use.
  6. Ask existing donors to switch to giving online. Most will be happy to do this if you explain how donating through Justgiving saves you time and costs.
