Top 5 fundraising tips for schools |
 |
- Tell all your
school's constituents about your new Justgiving service — teachers,
parents, pupils, governors, alumni, the local community. Publicise
the service in the local media and in school and alumni newsletters.
Appeal for donations and ask people to consider participating
in a sponsored event to raise funds.
Put
a prominent link to your donate facility on your school's website
so everyone that visits your site can quickly and easily donate
if they want to. Check out the great donate button on this
school website.
- Engage your pupils by asking them to come up with great
fundraising ideas and encouraging them to build their own online
fundraising pages in IT lessons or in their own time.
- Tell your donors
what a donation will buy. It's much more compelling to say "£30
buys a new school desk" than it is to ask for funds for general
use.
- Ask existing donors to switch to giving
online. Most will be happy to if you explain that it saves
you time and costs if they donate through Justgiving.
