Next Wednesday (July 20th), myself and colleagues from PwC West London will be tandem skydiving from 13,000 feet to raise money for Urban Scholars, further details about them below.
My target is to raise £250 for this cause, which PwC will match so that a total of £500 is raised for the Urban Scholars Programme.
Please dig deep and donate what you can to this admirable charity that makes a real difference for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Urban Scholars Programme is a University based intervention programme for over 200 12 to 14 year old students from inner-city schools. The project, based at Brunel University, is designed to provide potentially gifted and talented students from urban areas with the necessary academic skills, motivation and self-esteem to have high aspirations and greater achievement. The aim is to help them acquire high grades in their public examinations so that they can obtain places in universities and subsequently enter professions that members of their families may not have previously considered. This project seeks to find submerged talent in the inner cities, which is often masked by social disadvantage.
