The Vine Trust is an international interdenominational charity with a vision to see communities transformed.
One of it projects is based in Peru and aims to deliver basic healthcare to remote communities in the Amazon which otherwise have little or no access to healthcare provision. The lack of access and resources often results in high infant mortality rates and debilitating diseases, many of which can be easily treated by modern medicine.
In July 2011 I will be working voluntarily with this project and travelling to Peru to act as a General Practitioner in this setting - working alongside other professionals to deliver a health service for people in rural Amazonia.
Any funds raised for the charity will be used for purchasing vital medical equipment, supplies and medications that will help to provide healthcare to these communities - and ensure that projects such as this can continue to bring opportunity, health and hope to disadvantaged communities and marginalised people.
