Nipro-Europe are supporting Diabetes Power to gain Charity Status, plus 10% of the total raised will be going to DWED.
This Cycle Ride is in honour and memory of Sian Howarth. The first time I met Sian was at a fashion show raising funds for DWED. She was young beautiful & full of fun.Sian had Type 1 Diabetes.Sian inspired me,I knew that the future was bright for Claudia.

Claudia's Story
1st May 2008 our lives changed forever. Claudia aged 7 was dignosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Sadly she was in DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) a life threatening condition. Claudia had been unwell for a week.Sadly her GP diagnosed a throat infection.
He had missed the classic early warning signs!
If I hadn't decided to ignore his advice and take Claudia to the hospital she would not be here with us today.
Sadly some children/adults are still dying, due to the lack of knowledge of the early warning symptoms.
Claudia is on permanent life support each and every day in the form of insulin until a cure is found.
Diabetes Power is working in association with Nipro Europe & DWED to raise enough funds to enable Diabetes Power to become a Registered Charity.Of funds raised Diabetes Power will recieve 90% & 10% will will go to DWED.
Diabetes Power aims to deliver a sustainable Type 1 Awareness Campaign in order to raise the profile of Type 1 Diabetes and the early warning symptoms.
The Campaign has already started "Know The Symptoms" Type 1 Has No Favourites..

Pumps in association with Hospital Teams
