My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As a company we’ve all been saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague Laurence George in the last year. You may or may not also be aware that Bill Haspery (Dimplex Renewables sales team and long serving Dimplex employee) sadly lost his to battle against Mesothelioma and prostate cancer in the last few weeks.
Macmillan is an essential source of support for people living with cancer and a major force for improving cancer care. One of it’s key fundraising events in the south is the Dorset Bike Ride, which is now in it’s 23 year and will take place this year on Sunday 1 July.
A team from the renewables and marketing departments will be taking on the challenge of the 60 mile route as part of the event and we’d love for more of our colleagues to get involved, either through sponsorship or taking part on the day.
We’re hoping to raise plenty of sponsorship for the event from staff, friends, family and customers alike, so we’d would like as many of you to get involved as possible.
So whether its actually taking part or pledging to sponsor, we’d like everyone associated with Dimplex / GDC Group to get involved in some way.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.

Also, a HUGE thank you to everyone who has sponsored us so far, the level of support has been overwhelming and so many great messages of encouragement. Look out for the photos after the event!
Just a week to go now, over £1700 raised so far, the team are all raring to go! Welcome also to Emma Rodgers and friends who will be joining us for the 38 mile ride
Thanks to Dave Hutcheon who has volunteered to whizz around on his motorbike and be our photographer, videographer and support rider on the day.
Great news - 4 new riders have joined the team! Welcome Dave Meyrick (Renewables), Erica Scott +husband and Katie Arnold ( both GDC transport team).
