As part of my gap year travels around East Africa, I have decided to challenge myself into climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2010 to raise money for a local Leicestershire based charity - Wishes 4 Kids.

At an altitude of 5895m, Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing volcano in the world and the tallest mountain in Africa. Using the stunning Machame Route I will trek to the summit in just 7days!

Wishes 4 Kids is a charity that grants wishes for children who are life limited, terminally ill, have experienced life-changing physical or emotional traumas, have suffered major abuse or are diagnosed as HIV Positive. Sadly there isn't a magical cure for the suffering of these youngsters, however, we can bring a short period of respite. The time when a child has a wish granted is a moment that will be treasured by them for the rest of their life
