Story
I'm getting together with three all round good blokes from SCUK to take part in the SnowCamp Alpine Challenge. This is a team challenge and we all have to reach checkpoints at 15 resorts of the massive Portes du Soleil ski area that spans France and Switzerland.
We have a minimum of 150km to cover over two days, plus a 10km night hike in snow shoes at the end of the first day. The other 3 guys are a good decade younger than me and are already talking about training. I was hoping to rely on gravity and pain-killers. It's going to be a real challenge for us all, particularly on snowboards.
SnowCamp is a great charity, taking kids in dead-end places and inspiring them with the Alps, teaching them valuable life skills and motivating them for the future.
Dig deep people!
