Life in a refuge is hard. Christmas is particularly hard. Here at Eaves we will do everything we can to support women and children through this difficult time of year, and you can help too. There are certain things that would make a real difference to a woman's life every single day of the year. If you would like to lighten the load this Christmas, and throughout 2012, here are some ways you could make that difference.

£10

"A mobile phone top up would mean a lot to me so I can talk to my family this Christmas."

£20

"My daughter had to start a new school when we moved. I can't afford a school uniform for her yet so she stands out from the other children."

£35

"My children have no toys or books anymore in their own language. They got left behind when we escaped. I want them to read and learn."

£50

"I was pregnant when I came to Eaves. I have just had my first child. It is so expensive to buy all the things a baby needs. What I need most is a baby bath and a sling so I can take him out safely."

"I have been studying for a year since I first came to Eaves. I am ready to take my first exam and move on to the next stage, but I can't until I have the entry fee."

£100

"I have two young boys now. I don't have a pushchair for them both so I don't take them out very often anymore. A double pram would make a big difference to our lives."

£200

"I have recently moved into a new flat with my children. It's great to haveour own place again but we don't have a cooker. It makes things very difficult. I look forward to having a cooker and cooking food from my own country again."

£500

"I feel ready to leave the refuge now and move on with my life. One obstacle still stands in my way though and that is the money needed for a deposit on a flat. I really don't know how I will get that money."

Just Giving is a very simple way to donate and make a difference this Christmas. Simply make your pledge and the rest is sorted out for you.

Don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK taxpayer in order to make the most out of your gift!
