After the recent developments and lack of jobs in the UK, Eve, Theo and myself have decided to go help those a lot less fortunate and came across this special charity in Gwalior, India. It is about 4 hours south of New Delhi and has numerous problems, the ones we aim to address is to provide local healthcare & education whilst Eve teaches children with learning difficulties etc. We are aiming to go for an initial 6 months from the middle of February, have a couple weeks break (because of VISA restrictions) then go back for another 6 months.
We need to raise as much money as possible in order for us to help and am asking all our friends and family not only to dig deep, but to ask their friends & work colleagues to do the same. You may want to remind bosses that they get tax relief on charitable donations.
I'm also raising money by collecting and recycling old materials to be sold on ebay, contributing an disposal income I have and contacting almost every company in the uk. I've also written to the local and national newspapers to assist in return for 'letters from India'. A letter is also on it's way to the local councillor.
Please please dig deep and help or even for those teachers, get the kids to help!
If anyone else has fundraising ideas, such as theatre shows, improv-offs, fund raising nights please let me know!
As for those who haven't claimed back their bank charges or PPI, most companies charge 30-40% for this, I'll do it for you for a 10% cut of whatever you get back which will go straight to the charity!
