Thanks for taking the time to visit this page for the Edinburgh Wolves 2010 Play Off Run!

This year for the first time in the club history the team have reached the play offs and will host an extra home game at Meadowbank on the first weekend of September.

As you probably know the Wolves are a Community Amateur Sports Club where the vast bulk of our funding comes from players - event ticket sales are designed to only cover the cost of hiring Meadowbank Stadium.

We've kept our gate ticket prices as low as possible this year as we know everyone is looking to save money. But we are asking our supporters help cover our extra costs for the play offs. We are hoping that we can convince you our fans to donate some of your spare change to help off set our costs for the play offs and help us get ready for the 2011 season!

It costs the club over £400 on top of the hire of the Stadium to have Referees and Ambulances on the day. These costs are normally covered by player fees - with venue hire covered by ticket costs and merchandise sales.

If we go further into the playoffs we face potential large travel costs to go to England and possibly the final if we keep winning.

If many of our supporters can donate just a few pounds it will help us out a lot.

You won't get anything extra for your donation other than the knowledge that you've helped the team out and allowed the club to focus on the football side of the world.

While we ask for lots of small donations you don't need to be shy if you want to donate more - we just ask that ALL UK Taxpayers click the gift aid box to help us claim back some of the tax you already pay to the government.

The Edinburgh Wolves are a Community Amateur Sports Club - run exclusively by volunteers. The club gives people from all walks of life a chance to play American Football a sport which to those who take part is the best team sport in the world.

Since 2002 the Wolves have provided equipment free to the players to use in training and games. This equipment can cost up wards of £300 brand new to use. The Equipment has been offered free because the running costs of playing American football can be very high in the uk.

The Wolves travel an average of over 2500 miles a year to play just five games on the road for the Adults. With the Junior team also travel over 500 miles a year for just 3 tournaments. The five home Games are also costly as each game must have an Ambulance on stand by, referees paid and equipment transported from storage. There are also training costs for 30 weeks of the year to make sure both the Junior and Adult teams play safely. All of the running costs are covered by the players many of whom are on low income.

At the end of 2010 the team will need to order new equipment as some of the current equipment is almost at the end of it's working life (the team jerseys have lasted 4 years for example) and needs to be replaced.

I'm hoping to help the Wolves Fund raise via Just Giving the money needed to cover the replacement equipment which will allow the club to continue to offer free equipment use to the players to save them money.
